January 5th, 2015 – Happy New Year!

First, yeah, I’m so done with the day numbers. I hate having to count up from the last post when I skip a week! I’m also over the way giving the days a number seems to be counting towards or away from something. I don’t have a deadline or a countdown towards my goals of getting better health habits drilled into my head. I want to do it. I don’t want to feel like it has to be done by July 23rd, 2015 or November 8th, 2042. <– haha

New Years was a quiet affair. We stayed home, enjoyed a nice beef roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, and some veggie I can’t remember for dinner, and shared a bottle of champagne. It was delicious, and I was tired early and in bed by 1030. Mattie came to bed around midnight after getting caught up in a chat on Facebook.

The weather has been colder lately and we’ve been snuggling a lot more, and the last few nights he has wanted to share my blankets. Finally it is cold enough that he actually feels chilled! 😛 I feel like the furnace is always running but so far the gas bill has not been too high. It helps that we finally had the plumber out to fix the bathtub faucet which was leaking a steady stream of hot water. Having the water heater running constantly was not helping our gas bill!

I had a package supposedly delivered by USPS on Friday but where ever they delivered it, it wasn’t to my house. I emailed the post office about it on Saturday but have yet to hear back from them. Hopefully they respond tomorrow but either way I will have to contact my seller and see if we can reach a solution- I was really looking forward to my order of beads and findings that apparently were sent to someone else who has yet to drop them off at our house. Sadly this is not the first time in recent weeks that the USPS has delivered my package to another house- some weeks back they sent my new knitting needles I had ordered to the house across the street.

Food… eh. Its been pretty hit and miss with a few downright regrettable days. I tracked everything yesterday and today though and even took a walk before dinner. I planned to go to the gym, but my day was busy and my heart rate monitor watch seems to have a dead battery and I just had no desire to go in there and do anything major. I am planning to stay on track this week as much as possible though and hopefully see a nice loss come next Sunday.

Today as I said got busy, mainly because I overslept a lot. I ended up getting up, putting gas in the car which in hindsight I should have done last, going to the gym to pay the “improvement fee”, and then grocery shopping. Then I stopped at the bank to pull a ten out to get my hair trimmed this week at the beauty school. After I went grocery shopping, I came home and unloaded the car, and went to the feed store to pick up the dogs’ vaccines for this year where I discovered the stupid gas station put a $101 hold on my checking account so my card wouldn’t work at all to pay for the vaccines. I left my info and Tuesday they will try to run my card again and hopefully it will go through, assuming the hold drops off by then. *sigh* I also have bills to pay out of that $101 I can’t touch right now and I’m not exactly pleased about it.

Dinner tonight was a so-so mash-up of Polish sausage, pasta, tomato sauce, nacho cheese, and zucchini. It was okay, but I will sum it up to a learning experience and not make it again. Eh. It happens, right?

We went back to pool tonight after a few weeks off for Christmas and New Years, and I swear I forgot how to play. We played a really good team, but I made a lot of stupid mistakes all night. Afterwards we stopped at Berry Star for frozen yogurt on the way home.

That pretty much sums up the last few days. I’ll get food diaries of Sunday and Monday up in a bit.
